The last light of sunset making the water glow as it falls over Horsetail falls in Yosemite National Park.
Horsetail Falls in Yosemite National Park. This waterfall is commonly known as the "Firefall" but if you talk to some people they will take exception with this term as the original "firefall" was a summer time event that began in 1872 and continued for almost a century, in which burning hot embers were spilled from the top of Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park to the valley 3,000 feet below. This event is much more environmentally friendly. The modern event happens around mid February every year depending on conditions. There has to be enough snow to melt to create the waterfall and the sun needs to hit the cliff face at just the right time during sunset to create this effect. If there is not enough snow or a cloud gets in the way you more then likely will not see it.
